50 cents

I love my library. And recently I have come to love it ever more. Why? I bought one of my favorite book ever! And only for 50 cents!

*Sigh*

I'm in love! In love with poetry! Dear sweet, beautiful poetry.

They have some amazing poems in here. But I couldn't leave all this amazing stuff to my self. I have to share some awesome lines from my favorite poems.

Lines from "If-" by Rudyard Kipling

If you can dream-and not make dreams you master;
If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat them those two impostors just the same;

Lines from "Our Heroes" by Phoebe Cary

He has a hard battle to fight.
Who strives against self and his comrades
Will find a most powerful foe.
All honor to him if he conquers.
A cheer for the boy who says "No!"

Lines from "Sometimes" by May Riley Smith

And if, though patient toil, we reach the land
Where tired feet, with sandals looked, may rest
When we shall clearly see and understand,
I think that we will say, "God knew the best!"

The poem "The Optimist" Unknown author

The optimist fell ten stories
At each window bar
He shouted to his friends:
"All right so far."

And what about you? What are some of you favorite poems?

Love those 50 cent finds!
And I think one of my top favorite poems is the one you posted - If by Kipling. That poem is so inspiring, yet sobering... it's hard to describe. But it's had an impact on my life, for sure.

I love the wonderful, romantic poems, but fun poems are great too. Have you ever read anything by Shel Silverstein? He writes books of crazy fun poems and illustrates them too. If you haven't, you should check out 'Where the Sidewalk Ends'.

Love in Christ,
~ Liz

I love if by Rudyard Kipling too! The "optimist" gave me a smile. : )

BTW.I love the button on your side bar "Careful or you'll end up in my Novel" :) LOL. I actually do model many characters off of folks I know, and yes, sometimes they are the villains. : )

I love poetry. Emily Bronte's poems are some of my very favorites. And William Wordsworth. ^.^

I'm doing your 15 day writing challenge! I know it's rather late... But I couldn't help myself.
